The 11th annual V-Fest is a women's (trans-inclusive) concert & arts series in solidarity with V-Day, an anti-violence/oppression and women's liberation movement. The mission of the events is to bring together and celebrate local artists, feminists and supporters to raise awareness of issues of oppression, and to thrive through artistic expression.
It is also a benefit. Previous years have benefited organizations such as Peaceful Paths, Chrysalis Community, Civic Media Center, and the national Vday fund.
Here is a list of just some of the bands/artists being featured this year:
Nomore, Boyfriend Material, Wax Wings, Killarney Star, GUTS, The Rochevanies, Gorilla Candy, West Hexes, The Howleez, The Busted Tramps, Shena Groger, Mama Trish, Alice Wallace, and more! Plus comedians & improv, poets, burlesque dancers, the vagina monologues at the hippodrome, open mic, band roulette, and dance party!
Vfest is a community collaboration between local venues, artists, and supporters.
In previous years it has included a range of creative projects including: T-shirts, music compilations, multi-city concert tours, raffles, collaborative zines, and art projects as part of Vfest.
This year something new is that Rachel Taft, founder of the Baltimore organization Feed The Scene, will be feeding the bands on the Saturday Feb 15th show at 1982, and cooking at a local kitchen. Also, two of the events this year will feature female comedians, improv, and poetry, as well as music. (Monday Feb 10th Feminist Variety Show Take-over @ 1982VideoGameBar, and Weds Feb 12th Ladies Open Mic and guest DJ's at the Jones B-side).

Ticket price for the February 14 performance includes a Valentine’s Day gift bag.
Ticket admission is good for the show and also for a pre-show V-day Art Soiree in the Hippodrome Gallery from 6:30 to 7:30 during which drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served while patrons can peruse art on donation for a silent auction.
